I was featured last Sunday between 2:30 and 3pm along with my three of my co-horts (Marvin Dorsey, Carl Stilwell, and Mary Torregrossa). We call our little grouping The Inner Four. I performed four poems from my new chapbook, Inside My Jambo Head: Love, Where the Road Ends, Blue Bonnets, and Showing A DVD on the Galapagos to a Ninth Grade Class.

Workshop!

Made my 16th annual trek to Clark Magnet High School in Glendale on Friday morning to share the joy of making and performing poetry with Mrs. Guarino's Creative Writing class. I put together a six poem sampler (pictured above) featuring my poems Maya's Face, Final Exam Senryu, Lunch Murder, Space For Poetry, Choose, and Google Don Name Images. They had fun learning the ideas behind the creation of each poem and proceeded to emulate the method of their choice. Great results. Wonderful buncha kids!

I performed my LAPS award-winning poem "Joshua Tree Trip", a new poem "Google Don Name Images", my classic slam poem "Joe Sphincter", and a love poem chosen at random from my works-in-progress binder "Evolution".

Read my poem (From the Summer of My Life) published in the first ever Altadena Poetry Review at the publication reading inside the Altadena Senior Center yesterday afternoon, then proceeded to also perform poems by Nancy Shiffrin (Twisted Tree) and Carl Stilwell (Thanking the Birds) who could not be there at that time. When I got home I poured over the whole volume into the night!
