Poetic Weekend!

On Friday night, a publishing reading was held at 4959 York Blvd. in Highland Park for Issue Three of the online publication Angel City Review, for which I am the Poetry Editor.

On Saturday night, I read three poems (Trivia, He's An Animal!, and The Chinese Way) for the erotic reading hosted by Chris Paradox at Book Show on 5503 N. Figueroa St. in Highland Park.

And on Sunday afternoon, I read two poems (Ventura Highway, from the anthology, and Mans) as a featured reader for another Coiled Serpent reading, this time at Beyond Baroque in Venice.

The lumpy road to Zorthian Ranch in Altadena where I was featured at 1pm along with CaLokie, Seven Dhar, and G.T. Foster. Seemed appropriate to read four poems from my book The Alternate Sky: Joshua Tree Trip, Hand-Held Mirror Poem Without Glasses, 99 Cent Store Valentine, and Did I Planet.

At 5:30pm, as part of LitFest Pasadena, I read two of my frankenpoems: Allusive Sights (published in the Altadena Poetry Review) and The Best (from my book Rectangular Man Dream Horses)

Came home from a day of three poetry events to find in my mailbox a copy of this new anthology, featuring five of my poems leading off the poetry section of the book: A Bowl, The Designer, Man Made World, Mr. Hide, and Traveling York Blvd.

Guest Poet x 2!!

On Monday, CaLokie and I spent the morning as Guest Poets for four 8th grade classes in the school library.

I performed my new poem In Junior High (from my cellphone) and poems from this collection (Back to the Future, Bamboo Discipline, French Toast, Green, and Wanna Go With Me?), 

Yesterday, for the 17th consecutive year, I visited Mrs. Guarino's Creative Writing class...

...where I read them poems from my new chapbook (Human Minds, Nimbus, In Junior High, Force, Allusive Sights, and When Doves Cry Prince Dies)

Publication Reading & Party!!

Yesterday afternoon at the Santa Catalina Branch Library in Pasadena ten copies each were distributed to eight of the ten poets published here, then they read two or three poems from the book.

That same evening poets published in the APR were given their copies in the sumptuous backyard of the editor, Thelma T. Reyna.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this tome for hours!

Guest Poet!

Yesterday afternoon I was a Guest Poet and Workshop Leader at the Arcadia Public Library thanks to the Nuvein Foundation for Literature and the Arts.
